Volunteering with AEWFC 1 of 4

1. Can you Volunteer?

Acton Ealing Whistlers Football Club is a Community Club run entirely by volunteers, and without their support and commitment, the Club could not operate. We are keen to involve more like-minded people in the running of our Club and would like to welcome volunteers from various backgrounds with diverse skills and experiences.

There are many different roles required to run a football club, from physical roles such as Coaches, to behind the scenes roles such as Club Secretary and Treasurer. Currently, our volunteers:

  • coach and manage our teams (U7 to U18, Soccer School, Whistlers SSE Wildcats);
  • help prepare our pitches for training and matches, setting up goals and marking lines;
  • organise fixtures and manage our business administration;
  • help maintain our ground and the clubhouse;
  • support our welfare and safeguarding responsibilities;
  • run our kitchen for our community;
  • help fundraise and organise events; and
  • form our Committee.

You can find out more about the various volunteer roles in the document below. In taking on some key roles, training may be mandatory, but the Club can support you through funding of the FA training courses. Most roles also require DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) checks as a part of safeguarding children policies. (More details about which roles require DBS checks can be found here.)

A list of current volunteering opportunities can be found here. You can commit as little or as much time as you can. If you think you can help us, please apply online at:
